The Screams is a unique community participation initiative that gives fans an opportunity to contribute directly to the soundscape of Cosplay/er. Participants will record short horror screams that may be used in trailers, promotional videos, Behind the Film episodes, ambient audio, and potentially the movie itself. Every scream becomes part of a growing audio library that helps bring the world of Cosplay/er to life while giving fans a chance to contribute something memorable to the project.
Some of the most memorable moments in horror are not created by what audiences see, but by what they hear. A scream can instantly communicate panic, fear, danger, surprise, or desperation in a way that no visual effect can replicate. From a terrified victim running through a dark hallway to the distant sounds of chaos in a crowded scene, screams are one of the most powerful tools in horror storytelling. Through The Screams, fans have an opportunity to help create the audio assets that contribute to the atmosphere, energy, and emotion of Cosplay/er.
Fans will be able to record their screams at dedicated Scream Booths during Sunshine City Scare 2026 on August 15-16 and Holiday St. Pete 2026 on November 21-22. Participants may preregister online or simply visit the booth during the event to record a short horror scream, reaction, panic moment, or other horror-inspired vocal performance. No acting experience is required—just bring your energy, creativity, and willingness to let out your best scream.
The Screams is another example of how Cosplay/er is being built with participation from the community that inspired it. Alongside casting calls, acting auditions, cosplayer extras, film crew, Signature Models, and volunteers, The Screams gives fans a chance to contribute directly to the project in a simple but meaningful way. Whether your scream ultimately appears in a trailer, promotional content, or somewhere else entirely, you’ll be helping shape the growing world of Cosplay/er.
